Develop, maintain, and oversee systems to maintain compliance with DESE regulations in collaboration with the Chief of Special Education and Related Services.
Oversee planning and implementation of district Extended School Year programming.
Monitor interruption services/compensatory services across the district ensuring accurate documentation, remediation, and communication with families.
Represent the district in mediation through the BSEA.
Collaborate with DESE Problem Resolution Office to respond to and resolve complaints.
Assist the Chief of Special Education and Related Services in development, training, implementation, and monitoring of processes and procedures to ensure consistency and equity in special education programming across the district.
Collaborate with Private/Parochial schools and homeschool families regarding special education and oversee proportionate share responsibilities for the district.
Support SEPAC officers in increasing parent engagement and attending SEPAC meetings.
Provide PD in the area of special education regulations to administrators, general education and special education staff, and transportation providers.
Assume any additional responsibilities and duties as deemed appropriate by the Chief of Special Education and Related Services.
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
- Requires at least 5-7 years of relevant experience
- Relevant Master’s degree required
- DESE Licensure required
