Acts as liaison between families and school; and implements strategies and activities to build the capacity of families according to parent engagement plan.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

- Assists parents with school and community information and guidance in school procedures; and helps families understand district/school policies and procedures, standards, assessments, student test scores and report cards.
- Prepares monthly calendar, newsletter, fliers and letters to parents/guardians; and sets up conferences and fundraisers.
- Participates in the Parent Engagement Team; and collaborates with team members to organize activities or events to educate and support parents.
- Facilitates meetings and conducts presentations; works to enhance communication between school and home; and develops learning kits for students.
- Attends Family Education Department meetings and training activities.
- Arranges for translation services for meetings, conferences, telephone calls and written documentation.
- Performs related duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
Associate's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Business Administration, or related field. Minimum 1-2 years experience, including customer service experience, and family services/human services field.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly having to move objects.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
This position requires employee be in an office or similar indoor environment frequently and in an outdoor environment or in the community occasionally. Employee may be exposed to individuals who are rude or irate, individuals with known violent backgrounds and extreme heat and cold.
